WeChatPay, 58Pay and Tag Media Group merged in the Philippines to prepare for the influx of Chinese tourists

WeChatPay from China expansion  has been focused on Chinese tourists abroad rather than launching local versions of the platform.

Right now, there’s an ongoing orientation and training of the platform which was launch recently in the Philippines by some of the companies under Yupangco Group (Filremit, Yupangco Electronics Corporation, Manila Express, Zoomanity Group, Yamaha Music among others). Now launched as 58Pay with Bong De Ocampo and Robert Laurel Yupangco as partners and recently introduced to the public with the media at UnliCity, Century City Mall, Makati.

According to WeChatPay, “We focused on expanding the payments service abroad, but it has stopped short of trying to create a local version of the platform for other countries. Instead, the company has been focused on signing up merchants in many countries to accept the payment system so Chinese tourists can use the payments platform abroad and right now in the Philippines.”

According to Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas, one of the partners of 58Pay, “We are looking for merchants which Chinese tourists are fond to go , just like some outlets and duty free, some famous restaurants like Samgyupsalamat, theme parks, hotels and companies like Air Asia & Jeju Air.

In the Philippines, the expectation is to increase the Chinese tourist especially now that the Duterte administration has a good relationship with China.

To know more about it, please call 09778978877 or 219 3503 to be one of the merchants.

PASIG RIVER MASTER PLAN COMPLETED

The PRRC, in collaboration with UP PLANADES, designed the Pasig River Integrated and Strategic Master Plan (PRISM) with a vision that by 2032, the Pasig River and its surrounding basins are resilient life-sustaining ecosystems that are able to support diverse human needs and biodiversity towards inclusive, harmonized, and balanced development co-managed by competent and adaptive institutions with responsible and empowered communities.

This new restoration strategy covers water quality management, stream flow management, catchment management and riparian management so that the Pasig River will again enshrine socioeconomic, aesthetic, environmental, recreational and cultural values amid changing risks and natural perturbations.

The illustration below provides a brief summary of the integrated wastewater treatment systems, one of the 19 priority projects proposed in the PRISM to help improve the water quality of the Pasig River, and for concerned agencies to comply with concession agreement, and other environmental laws.

PRRC, LIAC relocate more ISFs in Estero de Magdalena to Cavite

The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), in collaboration with the Local Inter-Agency Committee of Manila, relocated more informal settler families (ISFs) along the stretch of Estero de Magdalena, Manila today, July 3.

According to PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio "Pepeton" E. Goitia, up to 40 families would be initially transferred to the relocation site in Trece Martires, Cavite.
While the remaining 60 families were scheduled to move on July 10 to their new houses in Summer Home, Trece Martires, Cavite.
Goitia said that before the relocation, the families were accompanied and assisted by PRRC in various community dialogues and ocular inspections as part of their social preparation.
They were also provided with 40 trucks and vans as they move to the relocation site.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Manila likewise provided each family with food supplies such as rice, canned goods and coffee.
Other entitlements included livelihood assistance and disaster preparedness training.
From November 2015 to September 2017, PRRC already transferred 1,009 ISFs out of the target 2,015 to various relocation sites in Bulacan.

Goitia said it was important for the ISFs to leave the estero because they had been long exposed to the dangers of leptospirosis, diarrhea and other waterborne diseases.
In addition, they caused heavy pollution of Estero de Magdalena, which flows to the Pasig River, that no amount of cleanup operations solved the garbage problem in the area; hence, the relocation.
It was only last June 13, 2018 that the PRRC conducted a massive clean-up operation with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), local government unit of Manila and several ISFs in Estero de Magdalena to prevent the flooding in the area.
"So these ISFs really must be relocated because they are also causing the mountains of garbage here," Goitia said.

Once all the ISFs are removed, the PRRC can already begin the construction of the linear park along the estero as it did in Estero de Pandacan, Estero de Paco, Maytunas Creek, Estero de San Miguel and many other once-polluted waterways.
The government allotted P 17 million for the rehabilitation of Estero de Magdalena into an environmental protected area.

Furthermore, the PRRC and MMDA jointly dismantled their informal settlements with consent from the families to ensure that they would not return to Estero de Magdalena.
Trece Martires Mayor Melandres G. De Sagun welcomed the families in Cavite and ensured that their houses were in good condition, and accessible to important facilities like hospital and school.

PRRC praised for Maytunas Creek rehabilitation

Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos expressed her gratitude to PRRC Executive Director Jose Goitia and to all PRRC employees for their efforts in cleaning and developing the Maytunas creek.

The developed Maytunas creek linear park has been opened to the public since February 24, 2016.

The PRRC installed waste water interventions at Maytunas creek such as bioremediation and interceptor canal.

According to Goitia, the said creek’s 1,368 linear meters of recovered easements also feature solar-powered and electric lighting fixtures, paver blocks, concrete bench, railings, and ramp for persons with disabilities.

Prior to its rehabilitation, Mandaluyong LGU’s environmental management department head Emmanuel “Sonny” Oblea shared that they used to receive numerous complaints about the massive volume of wastes in Maytunas creek.

Mandaluyong City likewise installed trash traps before but their efforts were unsuccessful due to the massive amount of garbage to clean.

“Hindi pa ‘to [inter-city installation of trash traps] nagagawa, naglalagay na kami ng trap. Sa loob ng isang buwan, apat na beses na naglilinis kami because of numerous complaints,” said Oblea.

Oblea pointed out the important role of PRRC’s leadership and interagency cooperation in rehabilitating the creek that has prevented the flooding in the area.

“But because of the project of the PRRC again, inayos nila yung aming Maytunas creek. I think last year, wala na akong natatanggap na reklamo tungkol sa mga basura na nagka-clog doon sa aming part of Maytunas,” Oblea stated.

Maytunas creek is one of the 47 identified tributaries of the Pasig River system.

PRRC, NHA relocate another 60 ISFs from Estero de Magdalena

Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) relocated another batch of informal settler families (ISFs) along the stretch of Estero de Magdalena in Manila on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 with the help of the Local Inter-Agency Committee of Manila and the Local Government of Trece Martires, Cavite.

PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio "Pepeton" E. Goitia said 60 families were transferred to their new houses in Summer Home, Trece Martires, Cavite.
From November 2015 to July 3, PRRC already transferred 1,049 ISFs out of the target 2,015 to various relocation sites in Bulacan and Cavite.

Goitia said that before the relocation, the families were accompanied and assisted by PRRC in various community dialogues and ocular inspections as part of their social preparation.
They were also provided with trucks and vans as they move to the relocation site.

Other entitlements included livelihood assistance and disaster preparedness training.
Goitia further added that Mayor Sagun would spearhead series of job fairs for the families in addition to livelihood training assistance.

Once all the ISFs are removed, the PRRC could begin the construction of the linear park along the estero as it did in Estero de Pandacan, Estero de Paco, Maytunas Creek, Estero de San Miguel and many other once-polluted waterways.
The government allotted P17 million for the rehabilitation of Estero de Magdalena into a clear waterway with easements developed into a linear park useful for community access and recreation.
The families watched and consented to the dismantling of their informal settlements with smiles on their faces as they moved to Cavite.

Trece Martires Mayor Melandres G. De Sagun welcomed the families in Cavite and ensured that their houses were in good condition, and accessible to important facilities like hospital and school.

Food Crawl at the Memorable Place

I have been in a long term relationship and we're living in together for quite sometime now. My relationship was a roller coaster ride, though I have friends who can trust and shoulder to lean on and cry on when I needed the most especially when my parents died. One of the precious gem that a person can have is to have trusted friends by your side no matter how life brings to us.

Nowadays, friend are hard to find so when you found a trusted and loyal friend keep them and never let go. Cristina Dungaran is one of my trusted friend and we met on my previous work years back. We've been friends for a long time and counting. We rarely see each other on a daily basis due to the demands of life and work though we manage to compromise and meet halfway whenever we decided to meet up and do some catching up on life.

Our last meet up was a blast because we decided to do Food Crawl around Glorietta, Ayala Makati City and not to mention our favorite hobbies are shopping and groceries. In addition, we got a new best friend Booky app from our smartphones because we are able to take advantage of buy 1 get 1 on a reasonable prices because we both love food so much.

Our first pit stop was Kenny Rogers, we had our brunch Chicken Quesadillas and Kani and Mango Salad.

Kenny Roger's Chicken Quesadillas has chunks of chicken, veggies, and cheddar cheese rolled in tortilla and served with their very own mix of creamy jalapeno dip. Chicken was very flavorful which compliments the veggies and cheddar cheese. Since we both cheese, we are happy kid for the quesadillas and made our lunch a guilt free and light for both of us. Further, the tortilla was lightly grilled but soft and we can still taste the simplicity of the chicken.

Next we also ordered Kenny Roger's Kani and Mango Salad has Romaine lettuce, tomato, shredded carrots, white onion strips, Ripe Mangoes, Kani with Sesame dressing. The salad was light and does not overwhelm other ingredients. Further, I like carrots was shredded instead of strips because you taste all other veggies in it. In addition, the Sesame dressing was perfect for the Kani and Mango Salad because it's perfectly blended when mixed with the salad. Lastly, this is the best Kani and Mango salad that ever tasted.

Since our stomach is still we decided to have quick shopping and groceries along with that we are able to talks things that matters. Further, we bought clothes, juices and many more. While walking we decided to tone it down at Gong Cha's Milk Tea since we both love milk tea.

We ordered Gong Cha's Alisan Milk tea has oolong tea and which is famous in central Taiwan. We decided not to put any pearls or floaters in it. Well, this is my first time to have a milk tea without floaters on the other hand, I did like it because I can taste the simplicity of the milk tea and I enjoyed it.

Before going home and back to reality, our last pit stop was at Krispy Kreme in Glorietta. We ordered medium signature coffee and original Glazed Doughnut. The brewed signature coffee was roasted and perfect for brown sugar and cream and while Glazed Doughnut was soft inside and glazed on the doughnut was not sticky but flavorful. As we end our weekend bonding day with a sweet note.

We can make friends to everybody however only few are trustworthy, loyal and understands for who you are and what are you going through everyday. I may have a few friends on my list but I know these are friends who can trust, love and loyal to me no matter what life will brings to us. We may not talk or meet up on a daily basis but we know that we are for each other.
